Services

Our services

We run every stage of tilapia farming ourselves, from the hatchery to the market, and we offer each of those stages to other farmers and buyers. Choose a service below or send us an enquiry at the bottom of the page.

Stocking a cage with young tilapia fingerlings

Service 1

Fingerling production

Nile tilapia fingerlings from our solar-powered hatchery, for cages and ponds. Tell us how many you need, what size and when you plan to stock, and we will confirm availability, price and collection.

  • Fry (1 to 2 g): KES 8 each
  • Fingerlings (3 to 5 g): KES 10 each
  • Large fingerlings (10 g and over): KES 15 each

Discounts on orders of 5,000 fingerlings or more. Collect from the hatchery at Usigu or ask about delivery.

Service 2

Grow-out fish production

We grow Nile tilapia to market size in our deep-water cages on Lake Victoria, feeding by hand every day. The fish are sold fresh by the kilo to traders, hotels, schools and hospitals.

Service 3

Fish off-taking and distribution

We buy fish from smallholder farmers through our hubs in Kisumu, Kakamega and Homa Bay. Our refrigerated truck then takes fish to buyers in Kisumu, Kakamega, Vihiga, Kisii, Migori, Nairobi and Mombasa.

We also buy the fish grown by the women’s groups in our cage outgrower programme, so every group has a market for its harvest.

Farmers who want to sell to us can call our aggregation line on 0117 248 178.

We weigh your fish at the hub when you deliver, agree the price per kilogramme on the day, and pay by M-Pesa within 24 hours.

Service 4

Fish processing and value addition

We prepare fish to order: cleaned, scaled and gutted, ready for the pan or the shop counter. We can also supply whole fish frozen and packed in crates for buyers who need to store stock.

Ask us about prices for prepared and frozen fish, and about start-up kits for traders who want to fry or prepare fish themselves.

Service 5

Fish cage farming management

We manage the cages of the 29 women’s groups in our cage outgrower programme. We can also install, stock, feed and harvest cages for other owners, using the same team and daily routines we use on our own cages.

Service 6

Consultancy and training

Practical advice for new and growing fish farms: choosing a site for cages or ponds, stocking, feeding, keeping records and getting fish to market.
